“Where the Wild Things Are” opens today!

I am beyond excited to see this movie! I have been waiting oh so patiently for it to come out! It was always one of my favorite books as a child. I think we are going to try to go see it tonight. I can’t wait!!

Here is a link to the trailer if for some reason you have been hiding under a rock and haven’t seen it.

ETA: The movie was really good! You have to go see it!!

It was a little sad and might be a tad scary for the under 5 crowd.

My girls told me it was the BEST movie they have seen in a long time.

Goodbyn Lunch Boxes

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

A typical American school kid generates 67 pounds of discarded school lunch packaging waste per school year. That’s more than 18,000 pounds yearly for the average-sized elementary school. (Our school has about 600 students so that makes it more than 40, 000 lbs! yikes!! ) That is a lot of trash!!! Pretty unnecessary if you ask me. I had been looking for an alternative when I came across Goodbyn. They were perfect!!!!  They are fun as well as being good for the environment. I was feeling guilty for sending my kids to school with so many little baggies and juice pouches…so much waste! It has also made it easier to send healthier lunches.  The kids have had fun finding new things to put in them. Think of all the trash we could save if we all started using these. Seems like a simple “green” thing to do. I am sure I will also save some money not having to buy all the baggies and pre-packaged lunch items.

Just because this is my favorite time of year…

These are from last year, but I don’t think I ever posted them so I thought I would now.=}

Saying that I LoVE going to the Pumpkin Patch is a bit of an understatement! It is one of my favorite things to do in the Fall! I look forward to it all year long. I love Pumpkins!

I love these retro carnival rides they have at the Pumpkin Patch… aren’t they cool?!
