Just what every photog needs!

Love these mugs from Photojojo… my only issue is that they are Canon and I am a Nikon Girl! ;)

I still think they are pretty stinkin’ cool.

eta: Guess they are already sold out of these… popular item I guess! Photojojo said they would be ordering some more soon. :)

I came across this image of my little guy from a couple of years ago as I was editing some images last night.

It probably means a little more to me than it does to you…

I see a salty, sandy, tired little boy with windblown hair and the beautiful glow of the sunset sweeping across his face.

He has sooty feet and hands from playing in the sand around the bonfire. It is peaceful to me.

I can almost hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach in the background as the pelicans fly overhead.

It is what Summer is all about here in Southern California.

We love to play hard at the beach all day and enjoy Summer nights next to a roaring bonfire.

It is one of my favorite things about living here in Southern California.

I have many fond memories of days and nights just like this one that have been spent with friends and family over the years.

Hope you are all enjoying your Summer and having fun making your own Summer memories!

{Wiphan Zambia 2010} | Africa

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

God has really been working on my heart in the past year and given me the desire to do more with my life. I am still praying about what that exactly means. He has put the people of Africa on my heart and has given me a deep desire to somehow help the widows and orphans there. It really breaks my heart to know that there are people in this world that live in such poverty. Here in America we live a rather indulged, excessive life. We have SO much and take it for granted most of the time. I know I do. I get caught up in my busy life and complain about the most ridiculous things. There they struggle to meet the most basic daily needs. It is really sad and I want to do what I can to help. I need to stop being so selfish and be more selfless. God keeps reminding me of that.

Last night I came across this slideshow on Shannon Holden’s blog. I was so moved by her beautiful, yet heartbreaking images from her recent trip to Zambia.

Isn’t this little guy the cutest?!

He was so good for our session and made it really fun.

It was his first time at the beach and he was truly soaking it all in.

Right around six months old has to be one of my most favorite ages!

They are such a joy at this age…

just learning to sit up and not yet crawling.

They are becoming aware of the world around them and try to absorb all of it.

It is truly magical to watch!

Enjoy the little sneak peek… more to come soon.  :)
