I have joined Ali Edwards in her One Little Word project this year and to help me remember my word throughout the year I got this cute necklace from Lisa Leonard. I love it so much… it is simple and just perfect.

My one little word for this year is “grow“.

I can’t wait for my “grow” necklace to arrive so I can wear it.

I love coming across beautiful stories of people helping others…31 Bits is doing just that for the women of Uganda! 31 Bits began in 2008 when five college students from Southern California traveled to Uganda and met six amazing women. The girls saw there was a need for change: the women needed shelter, food, medication, school fees for their children, and the list continued…. The women attempted to provide for their families by creating hand-made jewelry, but due to the lack of market, their income was hardly sustainable. 31 Bits was formed when the girls knew they could make a difference; they had to do something to partner with their new friends. 31 Bits now works directly with the women in Uganda, enabling them to make a better life for their families by providing a market for their jewelry.

31 Bits has grown for partnering with 6 women to 35. They are excited and ready to expand and continue to change more lives.

I have been MIA again… although it was more like I was lost in Summer.

My kids went back to school last week and we have been thrown back into full on schedule mode, a crazy busy one at that. I think it will be nice to have some structure to the day, I honestly think we all do much better living that way. However, I will really miss having my people around. I love nothing more than being with my family and really find myself missing them when they are at school. Yes, I suppose it is nice to have a little bit of peace and quiet once and awhile…but then what? Personally I think I need a little bit of noise and chaos around me to feel completely comfortable… all of a sudden it is like I have an empty nest and I am not sure I really like it. I guess I just need to get back into my groove and I am sure it won’t be so bad. I know it will be much easier to get some work done. Until then I will be feeling a bit on the lost side.

Anyway…
