A typical American school kid generates 67 pounds of discarded school lunch packaging waste per school year. That’s more than 18,000 pounds yearly for the average-sized elementary school. (Our school has about 600 students so that makes it more than 40, 000 lbs! yikes!! ) That is a lot of trash!!! Pretty unnecessary if you ask me. I had been looking for an alternative when I came across Goodbyn. They were perfect!!!! They are fun as well as being good for the environment. I was feeling guilty for sending my kids to school with so many little baggies and juice pouches…so much waste! It has also made it easier to send healthier lunches. The kids have had fun finding new things to put in them. Think of all the trash we could save if we all started using these. Seems like a simple “green” thing to do. I am sure I will also save some money not having to buy all the baggies and pre-packaged lunch items.

I am really looking forward to Fall… It is my favorite time of the year! Cooler weather, beautiful colors, fun Autumn activities and most of all Pumpkins! Oh how I love Pumpkins! All year I look forward to taking pictures in the Pumpkin Patch. One of my all time favorite locations for Photo Shoots. All that orange! Yum!
