{Autumn color} | My favorite time of year!

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Our weather has been all over the place lately, HOT, then cold, rain, sun, wind…

it has been a bit of a weather roller coaster.

Guess that is what Autumn is in Southern California.

Today, however, I feel Autumn in the air…

thought I would take a quick moment to celebrate it. :)

{Orphan Care} | Something Personal

Monday, November 8th, 2010

I know this doesn’t have anything to do with photography, but since this is my little piece of the World Wide Web I figure I can use it to share things that interest me or I feel passionate about. ;) I have some more sessions to share soon…things have been very busy lately and I am once again behind on the blogging. C’est la vie.

Yesterday was Orphan Care Sunday, a day dedicated to bringing more awareness to God’s command to care for the fatherless. James 1:27 says “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” I know not everyone has it in their heart to adopt, but there are other things we can do to help. God has opened my heart and mind to a need and I can no longer just sit by and do nothing. I feel compelled to help in any way I can. Little things, big things. Anything will help. The more people who do even small things will add up to make a big difference. It breaks my heart to think about all these children in dire need. One of my favorite bloggers, Love has put together a list of a few things we can do on her blog Moments With Love. Please go read her post and see what you might be able to do to help. Love brought her sweet little guy, Clay, home from Uganda last year, they just celebrated the one year mark of him being home with his forever family. You will have to go read her story on her blog and see her beautiful family. This little guy is the cutest thing ever! {He also has 4 very cute sisters, too!} Every time I see his sweet little face it melts my heart. You will have to go see for yourself! :)

{30 days of Thankfulness} | Personal project

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Since it is November and the month we celebrate Thanksgiving I thought I would share something I am thankful for each day. I have so much to be grateful for and I need to remind myself I need to be content with what I have rather than focus on what I don’t have. Because I have SO much to be thankful for!

There is a link on the left (under projects) that I will be using for my {30 days of Thankfulness} project if you would like to follow along and see what I am thankful for.

Happy November!

xx Kathryn

{No need for slippers…} | My Favorite New Accessory

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

We have a new little member in our clan! Tobias or Toby for short. He is a sweet little Labmaraner or Weimador, whichever you prefer. ;)  Which is a mix of Labrador and Weimaraner. He is 10 and a half weeks now and growing like a weed!

Oh boy is he a handful!! Think “Marley” type of handful. ;) I am only half kidding when I say that. We shall see if it continues.  Here is just one a little example…the other day he pulled a piece of paper out of my printer then proceeded to pee on it… really!? I guess he needed to go, but c’mon. My mom thought it was pretty funny… I am still not so sure. ;)

He has a thing for feet. It is the funniest thing he is always on top of them, especially when I am in the kitchen cooking. If I move, he moves. I guess I won’t be needing amy slippers this Winter. ; ) He also loves to be under my desk when I am on the computer, always right where I need to put my feet. So far I am not getting much sleep and I may end up with some new holes in which to wear earrings soon, because he loves to nibble on my ears.  I must say he is pretty cute, so that makes up for a bit of the mischief.

The kids are loving it! Although, I am not sure our sweet Rodesian Ridgeback, Alex is thinking? She isn’t too sure what is going on. She is rather “tolerant” of the puppy. It might take a little time,  I think they will be great friends in the end. I have never had two dogs at the same time, but it will be nice for them to have a companion to hang out and play with.

He seems like a smart little puppy. He already knows how to sit and lay down. My daughter Kelsey has been working with him quite a bit and is already making great progress. The next trick we need to teach him  is to like my camera. He hates it. Every time I pull it out he barks at it and then runs away. :( That will have to change… quick! Here are a couple I did manage to get… sweet isn’t he. :)
