hello to another short week ahead of us… well sort of. Madie & Kelsey have Friday off marking the end of the semester & Macaine gets to go on a fieldtrip.

hello to getting back to doing yoga, I sure have missed you. You make me feel SO alive! (Seriously if you haven’t tried it you should!)

hello to more of the delicious winter fruit we have been enjoying. The Cara Cara Pink Navels seem to be our favorites right now, we seem to be going through several pounds of them each week. They are so sweet & juicy this year! I think all the Vitamin C has helped us fight colds off & kept us well this season. 

hello to the weather warming up at the end of the week. Can’t wait, it’s been chilly ( enter disclaimer… for Southern California) lately! Yeah I realize 54 degrees isn’t really that cold… sorry people with “real” weather! It has been unseasonably warm here lately & I have been spoiled. Then the temps took a bit of a dive and I’ve been freezing.  So 79 degrees sounds really nice right about now!

hello early Spring Cleaning itch… time to start purging and reorganizing things around this house. Then painting and redecorating can commence. Can’t wait to freshen things up a bit!

I LOVE  succulents! I am currently obsessed with them. Living in Southern California where water is scarce it is probably a good thing. I love them so much. So much so that I am tempted to rip out the lawn in my front yard and make it completely succulents like my neighbor down the street. My love for them probably comes from my grandparents. They were avid gardeners and had lots of succulents and cacti growing in their garden when I was growing up. I am not so much a fan of the cacti… most likely because I fell face first into their cactus garden when I was a very small child. It wasn’t the most fun experience sitting there having my grandfather pull all the needles out of my arms and face…OUCH!! Needless to say, I stayed pretty far away from them after that.

I’ve been seeing a lot of beautiful succulents pinned on Pinterest lately and had to make my own board dedicated solely to them, you can check it out here. They are SO beautiful!  I unfortunately didn’t get my grandparents’ green thumb handed down to me like my brothers did, they both have careers in landscaping. I kill everything I touch. However, you pretty much can’t kill succulents, so maybe that is the route I should go! I think one of my goals for this year is going to be to add a succulent garden somewhere in my yard… not sure I will go full force and remove the lawn like my neighbor. Defiantly incorporating some here and there will be the plan. It will be good to put in some drought tolerant plants to conserve water. Here are some of my favorites from Pinterest.

My brother that lives in Southern Cali has already told me he would help me do a vertical succulent garden like the one pictured above… we just need to find the “around to it” time to actually get it done. I will try to post some pictures of my succulent gardening projects as I complete them. I am feeling inspired and ready to get to it!

I have a Love/Hate relationship with computers. Lately I’ve been leaning a little more towards hating them. I did something to my blog that made important things disappear. Not good! I guess I should leave the blog customizations to the pros, because I tend to screw things up, rather royally. Anyway…I’ve resolved (all on my own for a change) the blog issues I was having and will be getting back to blogging shortly…sorry about being MIA. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do. Yikes!
